Last day before first storm approaching. New ugly buildings visible: Crissey Field Visitor Center and huge new palace-style "home" at mouth of Winchuck. Beach beautiful.

Notable Wildlife

300-400 gulls near mouth of Winchuck and in river. Samll bait fish in river attracting them.30 cormorants on rocks, 15 pelicans, 6 oystercatchers, a swimming seal

1 large dead salmon, recently died--

Steps down bluff.

Dune modification/removal. gavel path from stairs to beach

I am in contact with Candy at Curry County Planning Dept. I previously reported the road down the bluff to her. It apears not to be in use. I am sending her pictures of the stairs and gravel path and wil follow up with her.

45 People were enjoying the beach near the Visitor Center in the usual ways; walking, walking dogs (8), playing in the surf and shallows, beachcombing, sitting.
