A beautiful, peaceful morning on Mile 194 at a negative tide. Less marine litter collected than a few months ago. People were enjoying the trail, pebble shoreline and tidepools respectfully. No shoreline wildlife in apparent distress. No physical changes noted.

Conditions

Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: -1.7 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 30. Number of dogs: 9. Walking or running: 17. Tidepooling: 10. 2 people with one extended pole with a slotted shovel on the end exploring the low tide zone. No apparent collections taken.

Notable Wildlife

Two pairs of oystercatchers, two killdeer [one may have been guarding a nest in the rocks], a pair of cormorants [one with a whiter plume], gulls, surf scoters

Driftline Content

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Removed a small bag of primarily ocean based debris and small styrofoam pieces.
