As in other reports, the primary human activity on or near mile 226 was people stopping at the Lookout area to observe the ocean from several hundred feet above sea level.

As in other reports, the primary human activity on or near mile 226 was people stopping at the Lookout area to observe the ocean from several hundred feet above sea level. There were probably several people fishing off the rocks just beyond the north end of the mile. (Note that the shoreline of mile 226 is essentially inaccessible from the landward side except for the extreme south end at very low tide.) Nothing notable was observed in that very small amount of driftline that was visible with the tide at plus three feet on this cliffed shoreline. No man-made or natural physical changes were observed to the shoreline, not even in the rockfall deposit just north of the Lookout that I have been observing for a number of years.

Temperature: 48 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: W. Tide Level: 3.0 feet.
Human Activities
two vehicles were noted in the wide spot on Otter Crest Loop just north of mile 226. It appeared that those from vehicles were fishing just beyond north end of mile 226. Number of people could not be ascertained. Otherwise, people were coming and going from the Lookout area, where they were viewing the ocean.

No human activity was noted on or near the shoreline, the only activity noted being people driving along Otter Crest Loop, with a few parking for short periods of time at the Lookout at Otter Crest Wayside for the views.

On a nice, fairly calm and partly cloudy day on the central Oregon coast, there were only a few people driving along Otter Crest Loop and even fewer stopping to enjoy the view from the the Lookout at Otter Crest State Scenic Wayside.

It was a very pleasant sunny day and the ocean was calm, so visibility at and slightly below the surface of the ocean was excellent.

There was nobody observed along the shoreline of mile 226, however there were a number of people driving and stopping along Otter Crest Loop, the roadway that provides excellent overviews of the mile.

There were no human activities noted near the shoreline, which is usual for this mile, but there was activity at the Lookout, where there were a moderate number of people parking and going to the viewpoints and into the Lookout building gift shop.

It was a nice day to be observing the coast, what with the moderate temperature, light wind, and clouds that covered the sky thinly.

Humans were only noted well above the shoreline, specifically at the Lookout, where people parked their vehicles to get out for a few minutes to observe the seascapes.
