Report Details

This was a sunny day over the Memorial day holiday which meant lots of people around.  However, only 22 with one dog wandered down where the beach is marked to protect Snowy Plover nesting. One large group of horses from the rental went a short way along the wet sand, and two other riders leading a third horse came up from the jetty.  The sand was high up on the foredune with no steep cuts as has been the case in past years.  The beach was very long because of the low tides.  There was little wrack or human debris.  No dead birds were found, and only a few crows and gulls were fighting the blustery wind.

Conditions

Temperature: 60 F. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: NW.
