Report Details

Primary difference from last visit: because of winter high tides and storm surge there was considerable over topping of the dunes and lots of wood on the beach , much of it with a diameter over 14".   This week was the beginning of the Covid -19 social distancing response. The beach parking lot was still open but soon to be closed in a couple/few days.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. minimal waste on driftline today. Tide going out from a 8.1 high (` 11:24 am ) to .1 low (at 6 pm.)

Natural Changes

Evidence of wave overtopping. Lots of wood on the beach and over topping of dunes from wave surge / high tides. Lots of new sand on dune front.
