Open House on Pacific City Cable
Amazon Web Services and partners plan to bring a new cable across Oregon’s territorial sea and beach, landing in Pacific City area. The public has been invited to a “community open house” on the proposed project, the “Winema Subsea Cable Landing,” at which company representatives will extol the alleged benefits to the community. This takes place on Monday, June 27, at the Kiawanda Community Center (34600 Cape Kiwanda Dr.) in Pacific City. There are actually two sessions—one from noon to 2 p.m., and a second 4-6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
This is an opportunity for community members to ask questions about the environmental impacts of such a cable project.
