Everything still in well-kept condition at this mile, which is the Crissey Field Recreation Area (and Visitor Center, USFS, etc.

Everything still in well-kept condition at this mile, which is the Crissey Field Recreation Area (and Visitor Center, USFS, etc.). It still looks like an intrusion into the area, but maybe time will mellow things. There is a Park host RV located off the main road, but no camping/picnicing areas. Maybe he is the one who keeps the area policed up.

Walked the southern half of Mile 1, below Chetco River.Northern half too piled up with driftwood and logs.

45 People were enjoying the beach near the Visitor Center in the usual ways; walking, walking dogs (8), playing in the surf and shallows, beachcombing, sitting.

High tide reaching close to vegetation (composed of European beach grass) above the waveslope.

Most important observation was the dumped contruction material - mostly wood - at the end of a rough trail down the west side of dune.
