Report Details

Going north from the South Jetty/Coquille River was tough work in the fog and stiff north wind. Two people with dogs, at times leashed, and a barefoot runner were out there with us around 6 a.m. Another minus tide today (-1.2 feet) revealed sand normally underwater. The usual rock beds on this stretch were missing--presumably buried by blowing sands. Gulls and cormorants flew offshore. Nothing dead on the beach and no litter either. Some kelp was strewn in the high tide line.
