Report Details

The half mile north of the Coquille River was not occupied by anything other than gulls and sanderlings at about 7:30 a.m. on a clear, 52-degree morning with mild northerly wind. Tire tracks were notable to or from the Lighthouse, and the usual sign at the access was lying in the sand. Bull kelp, crab molt, shell fragments and small stones marked the tide line. The southern half was mostly the same, apart from a picked-over shorebird carcass (probably a gull) on the overcast but warm morning the following day. Three people walking, 3 vehicles and 2 dogs rounded off this segment. No litter on either half.
