Mile 116 Report
Seven Devils cliffs, Cape Arago South Cove
January 29, 2017
Not much evidence of the recent high tides.
Report Details
Not much evidence of the recent high tides. Found unusual to me things in the low drift line. An abundance of small snails on rocks. I myself murdered quite a few by walking out on the rocks. Doesn't seem to be any shortage of adult snails in the cove, by my reckoning.
Conditions
Temperature: 48 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Tide Level: 2.9 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 5. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 4. Photography: 2. Tidepooling: 4. Surfing: 1. Not that there was an extraordinary amount of litter, I just saw some.
Concerns
Litter
Vehicles
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. Don't know exactly what they were, but I found a wide dispersal of clear, tube shaped something or others. Tool pix.
Driftline Content
Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.).
Natural Changes
No extraordinary sliding. Previous slide not much healed.

There was a beach hazard statement issued and I wanted to see what impact that would have as we were experiencing the first fine weather after so many weeks of cold rain. I was charmed by a family of six playing on the beach, the children even playing in the water.
