Mile 169 - North end Siuslaw South Jetty Road - April 1, 2016

Report Details

Beautiful day at the beach even with the cloud cover. Filtered sun warmed the body and felt warmer than 57. As usual for this mile, there were very few people. Signs of construction (see photo). Also evidence of driftwood cutting and removal near the north end of mile. Wind was between light and moderate. Light enough so that it wasn't blowing sand in your face but strong enough to make your hair stand straight up. Many broken clam shells with gravel all along entire mile. Very few crab casings. Very little man made debris mainly in the driftwood piles. Lots and lots of driftwood both large and small (see photos).
