Mile 169 - North end Siuslaw South Jetty Road - January 18, 2013

Report Details

Beautiful day with little to no wind. No shorebirds noted on shore and few animal casings. Unusual absence of trash, i.e. bottles, food wrappers or containers. Noted large wooden block, approximately 6'x4'x3' coated in opaque plastic, apparently the remains of a dock, which according to a passerby had been noted for the past year in this area. It had changed in position several times over that period of time. Frequenters of this beach surmised it had been washed downriver, landing on the jetty and winding up on the beach.
