Mile 193 - Yachats Ocean Road Wayside, Yachats SP - October 11, 2019

There were few people out this morning as the sun was peeking over the mountains. Mile 193 south of the Yachats River looked about the same with regard to erosion. North of the river, Ocean View drive has been repaved and made one-way from 7th to 2nd street with a pedestrian pathway on the ocean side because of signifcant erosion that has occurred and has been documented in past reports. I did see a large block of sandstone that had fallen near the riprap between 7th and 5th street, which may or may not be new (see photo). A dead bird was on the beach south of the river just near marker 77 (see photo-please identify if possible). An individual was flying a drone over the beach from the edge of the parking lot at Yachats State Park, an activity which might potentially disturb birds. There is a tiny moveable house parked on the grass at the State Park as well.

Total dead birds: 1. see photos-not sure what kind of bird. Looks like some sort of bird of prey.

Landslides/major boulder falls. not sure if fallen block of sandstone is new or old.
