Low tide and clean beach. More visitors heading south than north from wayside. Considerable cliff erosion, but since this is my first report from mile 211 I will become more aware of any changes as I frequently walk the beach.

Number of people: 11. Number of dogs: 6. Walking or running: 8. low tide, people strolling with and without dogs

Driftline Content

Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Shells, Small rocks. One large piece of black plastic w/ strong diesel odor

Natural Changes

Landslides/major boulder falls.

I tried to pick up and carry back to trash collection area all plastic pieces I found larger than 1 square inch, but for every piece I picked up there were at least 100 smaller pieces, a great increase over the amount of plastic just a few years ago.

The contour of the beach has changed again so that there are numerous patches of standing water at the base of the embankment.
