Report Details

Finally a beautiful day for the fall beach clean-up. Not much litter on mile 213, but a horrific site of more development.

Conditions

Human Activities

Number of people: 17. Number of dogs: 4. Walking or running: 12. Playing in sand: 5. SOLVE beach clean-up day at south beach, which is my access point.

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 25. RVs/Buses parking: 3.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 1. fairly decomposed, but I think it was a gull.

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

One huge dead chinook salmon in the surf.

New Development

Bluff development, Drainage pipes, Steps down bluff.

Actions & Comments

I was wishing I had a camera with me, not only for the salmon, but mostly to shoot the ravaging, -or what those doing the work would probably call excavating- on the cliff. It's at the southern end of my mile, or maybe into the next. I do hope this work is being done legally, but I'm still appalled.
