Report Details

Beach continues to have a gentle slope and is free of human debris.  Small crustaceans found all along the tide line. The "cliffs" at the north end of the mile appear to be eroded into a greater slant.  Between "Sisters' house' and Neskowin Crest (mid mile) there were four trails into the dunes (with evidence of human usage) which are causing erosion.

Total dead birds: 1. immature sea gull

Small rocks, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt).

Erosion of vegetated foredune, Visible retreat of solid bluff.

One cannot help but notice the 120+ large clumps on entangled kelp all along mile 254.

The north half mile of 254 (after the end of the rip rap )has experienced serious erosion.

There is a marked difference between the 1/4 mile of rip rapped beach with its gentle slope and 2' shelf of sand blown against the rocks AND the north 3/4 mile where the dunes are receeding and are eroding in height.
