Mile 261 Report
July 16, 2021
Report Details
Conditions
Temperature: 62 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny.
Human Activities
200 people walking in the southern part of the mile. 5 beach fires, 5 surfers, 6 in the water, 4 on top of cape, 25 dogs.
Actions & Comments
The mist was settling in at the northern part of the mile as the sun was setting. We walked the southern half observing families and groups just enjoying the cool windless sunset. No violations observed, no garbage. It was a beautiful evening enjoyed by many. The profile of the cape appeared different, suspect something has fallen off.

Wow what a change from last month! State Parking lot is closed for a couple of months while construction on the new parking lot and restroom continues. The tree ( object I show as a measure of sand deposition ) is really getting uncovered! Survey also for COASST, no beached birds or mammals found. The beach access point at the north end of Bob Straub State Park is still unusable for vehicles, due to a massive erosion event and 5 foot sharp edges to the beach.
