Mile 303 Report
Oswald West SP, Smuggler Cove, Short Sand Beach
March 4, 2012
A plastic wrapper with Japanese writing was in the drift line.
Report Details
A plastic wrapper with Japanese writing was in the drift line. The south cliff looks look there has been some erosion over winter. Fallen trees were present along the side of the cliff. Morphology of the sand bars and cliff has changed. There were more pebbles than usual in the low tide line and there seems to be more rocks on the south end of the beach, or they have been distributed over a wider area near the mouth of the creek. The plants are starting to bud for spring. There were some recently fallen trees along the trail. Several hikers and backpackers were out today. New signage for Oregon Coast Trail.
