Busy for a Monday, but a very nice day. Lots of people out, but I was more concerned with the incredible amount of trash in the driftline.

Unusual concentration. I counted several dozen molted crabs in the driftline (see attached pictures), shell width ranging from about 2-5 inches.

Driftline Content

Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Shells, Styrofoam. More than 50 pieces of plastic, more than 50 pieces of styrofoam collected and thrown away

Actions & Comments

Collected and disposed of a considerable amount of trash in the driftline, concentrated more heavily on the south half of the mile, but throughout:50+ plastic, 50+ styrofoam, 6 pieces of rope, half a styrofoam buoy, 10 bottle caps, 2 shoes, and more small pieces of plastic. No markings could identify where debris came from.
