A rare rainy, windy winter day with no activity on the beach.  Unsuccessfully attempted to clean up wet sand microplastics with a strainer, but the strainer grid was too small.  It is difficult to clean wet sand.

Notable Wildlife

Hundreds of common murres flying over the ocean off the Bird Rocks, no murres on the rocks. Unusual to see them here this early in the spring. A couple minutes later, a pair of adult bald eagles flew over Chapman Point and the Bird Rocks, then headed back to Crescent Beach and Indian Beach.

Driftline Content

Wood pieces, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam. Quite a bit of microplastic at the Chapman Point cove, although not as much as has been on Crescent Beach.
