Report Details

Hit the beach at high water and large surf. There was an extensive breaker zone, with the SE wind blowing the wave tops into spray. The waves were actively eroding the foredune, which in places had been vertically cut by 1.0-1.5 m. There was a lot of wave refraction off the vertical dune edge, as well as mobilization of wood of all sizes including large logs. Elemental! A few sanderlings were the only other creatures we observed on this stormy day.
