Numerous pelicans were flying over the land near the beaches in this area, south past the Christian Camp trailhead. They were high and coasting.Otherwise, there was considerable wave overtopping from China Creek north to the rocky area just before Devil's Kitchen. Both streams were flowing deep and fast. Kelp/algae, ocean-based debris and Styrofoam in driftline. Two decomposed dead birds. Low human impact (0).

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: W. Tide Level: 6.0 feet.
Notable Wildlife
Many gulls and about 3 dozen pelicans were flying between Devils Kitchen and the Christian Camp trailhead south of China Creek.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. Birds were very degraded and I couldn't tell what they had been.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Styrofoam.

It was a beautiful, sunny day (the first in a while) but there was no one on this section of beach.
