- Motor vehicle travel is prohibited from (45° 12.7638', Mile 261) southerly to near Pacific Avenue at Pacific City (45° 12.1890', Mile 260).
Motor vehicle travel is prohibited from the base of the headland north of Cape Kiwanda (45° 13.3248', Mile 262), southerly to a point north of the beach ramp near Cape Kiwanda (45° 12.9684', Mile 261), except as follows:
(A) From the base of the headland south of Cape Kiwanda (45° 13.0950', Mile 261), southerly approximately 400 feet to (45° 13.0632', Mile 261), motor vehicles essential to and engaged in boat launchings, boat recoveries, transferring equipment or supplies onto boats, unloading equipment or catches from boats, or emergency repairs of other vehicles or boats will be allowed at any time during the year;
(B) From (45° 13.0632', Mile 261), southerly approximately 700 feet to a line located north of and parallel to the beach ramp near Cape Kiwanda, the point of intersection of said line and the line of vegetation being at (45° 12.9684', Mile 261), operation or parking of motor vehicles used for towing boat trailers or essential to boat launchings will be allowed.- Motor vehicle travel and parking is allowed at any time from the line described in subsection (2)(g) of this rule, north of the beach ramp near Cape Kiwanda, southerly approximately 1,300 feet to (45° 12.7638', Mile 261), except that in a corridor 100 feet in width, southerly of and contiguous to the line described in subsection (2)(e) of this rule, all parking is prohibited.

Large groups of people arriving and setting up over the entire mile. High number of visitors setting up for the fireworks show, small beach fires, many tents, swimming, kayaking, surfing, kite flying, corn hole, soccer, volleyball, one illegal vehicle in closed area. Number of people estimated to be 2500. read more
We stayed until 1:00, when we left there were more and more people showing up hard to estimate total number Returned at 4:15, estimated 1000 people, 2 boats with trailers.read more
Increased erosion of ramp, and repairs to this access. Increased erosion of drain pipe area and natural changes to sand bar creating a water way about 100 yards long. read more
Pretty quiet morning. 2 hours later there were 50 people, and 40+/- cars in the parking lot. Water erosion on top of cape evident, two large trees are all that is left of the forest. These trees are not doing well. read more
Sand movement has covered the exposed base rocks near the cape and south of the ramp. There is a area just west of the boat ramp that is much lower showing exposed loose rocks 4-6" diameter. Boats are launching north of this area.. north of the ramp the hillside continues...read more
Sand is moving back covering exposed rock and piling up along sand bank. Recent erosion, sand sluffing down south side of sand dune near access to path up the dune. See picture...read more

General increase in erosion, including under the boat ramp on the south side of the ramp. read more
Busy busy day at the cape. 500 cars parked is just a number, lot was full people circling for a spot. We saw three wedding parties and one engagement party. Many walkers, surfers and sitters present. Minor garbage, plastic toys and cigarette butts main garbage seen. read more
Minimal garbage was found for thIs high use area. I have heard volunteer citizens frequently clean up this area. However there were still dog poop bags, discarded or lost jackets, head bands, shoes and some plastic bottle, coffee cup and can garbage visible. read more
The holiday weekend was busy, fireworks, a championship lawn game, Dory fishing, and parking lot full most all day. Heavy use. The afternoon was much calmer and the beach cleaned up and dumpster emptied. read more
