- Motor vehicle travel is prohibited between the beach ramp at Gearhart (46° 01.8570', Mile 326), southerly to the Clatsop County-Tillamook County line (45° 46.9902', Mile 306), except as follows: Operation or parking of motor vehicles used for and engaged in towing dory boat trailers or essential dory boat launchings from Sunset Drive (45° 53.2830', Mile 313) in Cannon Beach southerly to Warren Way (45° 52.3566', Mile 312) with access from Warren Way only.

Lots of tide pooling activity because of the -1.9 tide. Three or four black oystercatcher pairs in this area and Ecola Point, one pair likely nesting, another pair appear to be considering a nesting site. No BLOY nests in historical nesting locations. read more

Hiked in and out to Crescent Beach. Tide pools look healthy and abundant. Live mussels were dropped at regular intervals along the trail from Crescent Beach to Ecola Road, left to die and decay. Quite a few of them were crushed or stomped on. read more
Most of the people on Crescent Beach hiked over before low tide. The sand bridge by Chapman Point was knee deep at low tide, so a few people crossed to Crescent Beach during that interval.read more

A rare rainy, windy winter day with no activity on the beach. Unsuccessfully attempted to clean up wet sand microplastics with a strainer, but the strainer grid was too small. It is difficult to clean wet sand.read more
